ConnectiCatZ - Starbase Catarinar

Ladies and Gentlemen,

CatZeyeS Entertainment is proud to announce the creation of a new Print and Play design:

ConnectiCatZ

ConnectiCatZ is a way to build a completely modular board of interlocking tiles of a certain terrain type.
The first terrain available is the Starbase Catarinar.

As usual, I'll let you take a look over my shoulder, crafting this baby:

First, cut out the templates and glue them onto cardboard - you'll need them later for the floors:



Now cut out the floor templates



and place the first template on top of them to cut out the slots:



Then fold the lashes along the borders of the slots:



To craft the bigger floors, place the template on the left and on the right or in the corners, and use the knife to cut the lashes. Do not cut out the parts NOT on the lashes - for obvious reasons.

Now cut out some pieces of foamcore. As a reference: The small floors are 3''x3'', the medium floors are 3''x6'' and the big floors are 6''x6''.

Now place the other template on top of it and cut out the blanks:



Place the foamcore on the backside of the floor



fold the borders and glue them in place:



This is what a finished piece of a small floor should look like:



As a reference, some armed robots along with some drones on it:

Now for the connectors. They are a bit simpler:



Cut out a piece of foamcore, 1''x1'' and place it in the centre of the paper.

Fold ..



glue ..



That's it.

Insert into one slot



then into another



to connect one part to the next.

In the next step, let's do the pillars:



Fold along the dottet lines ..



glue ..



and cut along the straight lines:



That's it!

The walls are even simpler: Cut out, fold and glue one half versus the other. Cut out the white section from the open doors:

Last but not least, cut out and attach the fasteners for the pillars to the floor. Glue only the corners of the fasteners into the corners of the floor tiles - leave the lashes without glue. The result will look like this:



Or like this on medium floors:



If done properly, you will be able to hold the pillars in place with the fasteners, while you stick the walls into the cuts to create scenarios like e.g. this one:
