I prefer acrylic colours and paint them very dry (out of the tube) or with very little water with a very fine brush (000 and finer).
The pigments don't soak into the paper but stay on the surface.

That makes sense, but at present I have almost no paints of any kind. I just need to be more careful with what I'm doing. <G>

That helps. Big Grin
But I think You've done a really good job so far.

Thank you, Markus; the messy bits are much more noticeable in the photos than they are at arm's length, anyway. :-)

Crew's quarters complete:

Messy crew: they left a coffee stain on the table! I had to put the bunk beside the door; for some reason that space on the other wall is almost 2 mm too small for both the bed and the lockers, so I'll make the lockers smaller in my file.

And yes, I did cut out the rungs on the ladder. :-)

On to the upper stairway wall:

I did glaze the door by trapping the plastic film between the wall's layers, but chose not to make the door open after I did this:

I dropped my knife, which holds a *very* sharp scalpel blade. Before I could get out of the way, the butt end of the knife bounced off my cutting mat, and the blade went about 1/2 cm into my thumb. At this point I decided to stop for the day.

At least I managed to not bleed on the model. <G>

Ouch!

But putting it in relevance to the pictures of the detail You managed to do with this blade I'd say it's worth it. Tongue

(And I should not eat my spaghettis while reading building reports)

It aches and has a nice bruise, now, too; it apparently bled deep.

I don't know what that mess is at the bottom of the cabinet door is: I don't see on the actual part, even under magnification.

If You brush against the edge (i.e. with your finger while holding it) one paper layer of the edge goes up or backwards. If you brush with it, it will go into the former right shape again. I think it was just brushed back while You made the foto. Looks like that for me.

I think a scalpel wound has the advantage that it heals very quickly - not like the 1 cm rusty nail wound I had a few weeks ago.

Whatever it was, it's not there. :-)

In any case, I stroke the brush pen along the edge to prevent fraying it.

True: the cut on my other thumb from a couple of weeks ago is gone.

I have the upper stairwell completed and installed (no photo yet), but I may have to stop work on the model -- *any* model -- for a couple of days. The weather has turned warm (almost 30 C right now and expected to be 34 C tomorrow and Wednesday) and very arid; the humidty is so low that the glue dries faster than I can apply it! :-/

Maybe in the evenings ...
